Dear Mulberry Grove Elementary School Parent:

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! As principal of Mulberry Grove Elementary, I want to take this opportunity to tell you how excited I am to have your child be a part of our elementary school.  My staff and I will work hard to provide your child the best education possible.

I hope you will partner with the school faculty to help minimize any anxiety students may feel as changes occur. We will do our best to make changes as smooth as possible, but we need your help to ensure students will be successful. If you have any concerns or questions, I am available to address them. Please contact me 326-8811.

To welcome all of our parents and students and answer any questions you may have, we have planned an Open House for August 24th from 7-8 p.m. I invite you to come out, meet the elementary staff and tour our school and classrooms.

Mulberry Grove Elementary strives to keep families informed about key education issues within the district. For up-to-date information on district initiatives, visit the Mulberry Grove CUSD Web site.  You can also keep up to date on your student’s progress in the classroom by visiting Parent Connect.  You received your Parent Connect pass word in your registration packet.

We will also continue to provide you important information about our school through our weekly classroom newsletters and our School Reach Communication System.

After school homework assistance is also available to fifth and sixth graders, Monday through Thursday from 2:50-3:30 p.m.  If you are interested in having your fifth or sixth grader in Homework Club please contact the school at 326-8811.

I want to point out one error in the student handbook on page fourteen.  Instead of saying that each student will receive one homework warning per semester it should say each child will receive one homework warning per month

I also want to remind all parents that students are not to arrive at school before 8:00 a.m.  Supervision is provided after 8:00 a.m.

Again, welcome to the new school year. We will do all we can to make it a great one and we know you will, too.

Sincerely,

Annette Hartlieb
Elementary Principal

FREDBIRD was here!!Fredbird!!

He fluttered into Mulberry Grove on the morning of April 22nd and spent the morning with former Cards pitcher Andy Benes in the Elementary school.

The school was a sea of red cardinals! THANK YOU to all the teachers, students, staff, and parents for making Fredbird and Andy feel welcome. And an EXTRA THANK YOU to Curtis Waters of the Mulberry Grove Fire Department for bringing a fire truck to school to greet the bird.

Hopefully everyones amazing effort and work to decorate the school will be recognized by the team.
